My family LOVES spaghetti! It’s the one thing that pretty much always pleases everyone at my table. But I cant make decent spaghetti sauce from scratch. I have tried and it’s bland and not great. So… I have begun to bedazzle jarred sauce with a few key additions that make me feel like I cooked. Hehe!

Haha if I need to get out a knife and cutting board, it feels more like my jarred sauce is homemade. So I start by sauteing a small onion diced fine until translucent. Then I add 1 tsp minced garlic and saute until fragrant.

From there things get meaty. My men like meat sauce, what can I tell you? So in goes a pound of lean ground sirloin which I break apart and cook until brown.

Then my favorite jarred red sauce is added. But wait there’s more! For those of you who grew up watching 90s dark comedies a la Christian Slater… you know what’s next! “Veronica, dinner!”

That’s right, fellow Heathers movie fans, add that tsp of oregano! Never mind the fact that there is already oregano in the jarred stuff. Then add in a small can of plain tomato sauce, a tsp of garlic powder and 1/3 cup grated parm.
